Courtesy - Integrity - Perserverance - Self Control - Indomitable Spirit
Letter from Sheri & Dave Churches
The TKD values of CIPSI are all very admirable, but this Club goes above and beyond.
C: Courtesy for others is excelled by the value of Kindness, courtesy on steroids! Always a word of encouragement for even the smallest improvement!
I: Integrity is what you do when no one is looking. Its also being able to count on someone's word and presence. The TKD upper classmen/classwomen are faithfully present
before every class to share their knowledge freely and willingly to anyone wishing to learn.
P: Perseverance to achieve your goals is excelled by the desire/commitment to help others achieve their goals. Persevering in sharing the same information with others over
and over until it is absorbed into one's spirit and muscle memory, without a hint of frustration or disappointment.
S: Self control is demonstrated daily by the kind conversation with others.
I: Indomitable spirit- having the confidence to believe in yourself is excelled by the ability to share confidence with the struggling until he/she has developed the confidence to
believe in themselves.
In short, this club demonstrates the value of LOVE- love for your neighbor as you love yourself..
In nursing, there is an unlovely reputation of nurses "eating their young". The more experienced nurses strive to be recognized as "super nurses" often at the expense of the new ones. No sense of mentoring, encouraging. . . .just sharks eating the guppies in the aquarium. In our TKD Club, we have guppies swimming next to the sharks, waiting for the day that they too, will be a shark and be ready to teach the guppies coming behind them!! The success of any organization is a result of the leadership in the organization. So, we acknowledge and praise the leadership of Sahbumnim, and the other senior members of the Club who are so dedicated to leading this group. You make it easy to follow your leadership. Finally, to each and all who have taken time, every class or for even a moment, to work with us or encourage us, we THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.
God has answered our prayers to find a home here in the Villages, so we are leaving now to return to Michigan to sell our home and return ASAP. We look forward to re-joining our TKD family as soon as we return. We are praying this unprecedented health issue passes as quickly as it came, and the Club can resume its vital activities. Stay healthy all!
Sincerely,
Sheri and Dave Churches
